Our Mission
Who We Are
Tanzania Sports Alliance was founded by Ally Semi Ally and Amalie Boge on the island Zanzibar. Ally and Amalie are passionate about health and fitness as a means to improve the lives of people in Zanzibar. Through their business, ZanFit, they provide mentorship and education to individuals in the field of personal fitness who then go on to gain employment as personal trainers and exercise coaches serving the local community as well as the many tourists who visit Zanzibar.
After several years of training locals through ZanFit, it was time to expand the mission and create the Tanzania Sports Alliance which is a registered NGO in Tanzania.
Ally and Amalie have been joined by Americans Jared James and Emily Bazinet to help fulfill the mission.
Our goal is to implement programs which enhance the physical and mental well being of Zanzibar’s communities.
We recognize the importance of leveraging sports, life skills and health education as a tool for positive change.
Our primary objectives are to:
Promote physical activity, nutrition and good habits for healthy lifestyles among individuals of all ages
Foster inclusion and community cohesion through sports activities and health workshops
Raise awareness about the holistic benefits of sports and nutrition for physical and mental well being
Empower local communities to manage and participate in sustainable sports and health programs
Empower women and girls by promoting their participation in sports and advocating for optimal reproductive health through physical activity and health and nutrition workshops
Raise awareness and provide contextual information about nutrition
Sports programs currently include Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Capoeira, Muay Thai and Boxing along with general fitness training.
